good ideas for a house guest gift basket?

kradjianm asked:

My mom is staying with us for over a week and I would like to make her a little gift basket of amenities and put it in our guest room. Does anyone have any good ideas for what to include? It would double as a thank you gift too since she will be helping me a lot with my kids.

I would put in some lovely scented soap and bath oils, a matching towel and washcloth, maybe a nice loofah, her favorite snacks and maybe a DVD or two. As a thank you maybe put in a gift card to her favorite spa or nail place. If she likes to read and you are sure you know her style get a book or two.

You can do a tea basket, with herb teas, a nice cup, some cookies..

Or a candle basket, with scented candles, some bath salts , and scented oils, maybe handmade soap with a lofa sponge..

i like food gift baskets mainly, but throw in other things too. maybe:
    some nice teas
    some chocolate!
    maybe a scented candle?
and one of those little sets u can get at like the body shop or bath and body works
i would list more, but i think a small gift basket would be more appropriate than a whopping barrel of stuff

I would get a really nice basket and fill it up with goodies from bath and body works. Get her some face wash, bubble bath beads, anything else you think she’d enjoy.

In addition to the soap/candles/body wash ideas, include some little chocolates or other gourmet treats she can enjoy in the privacy of her room at night. And a gift card tucked in there would be nice, too.

Maybe a small bottle of her favorite cologne, some pretty stationery, framed family pictures…just be creative!

Nice bath stuff like soaks, bubble bath, gels, sponges, big fluffy towels, votive candles, body spray, foot soak/scrubs, fluffy bath robe, bottle of wine and a couple of glasses, some gourmet coffee packets, really good creamer, comfy socks, slippers, bottles of water, snacks (depending on what she likes). Use your imagination based on what you think she might need or like. Maybe a really good book if she likes to read, puzzle books and pencils, stationary or note cards and a pen…….Hey don’t forget a little basket or vase of flowers, even a cheap little bouquet from the grocery store would be nice.
